Off The Beat

University of Pennsylvania's Premier All-Gender Student a Cappella GROUP

Off The Beat is the premier modern rock & pop a cappella group at the prestigious University of Pennsylvania. Rooted in rock music, our repertoire now spans a range of genres from pop and R&B to electronic and funk.

Founded in 1987 and now in our 36th year, Off The Beat has become one of the most decorated collegiate a cappella groups in the US winning over 30 CARA Awards, being featured on 17 Best of Collegiate A Cappella (BOCA) albums, and starring in the second season of POP TV's aca-documentary television series, "Sing it On!"

Recently, in addition to finishing 10th place in the world in the International Championship of Collegiate A Cappella in 2015 (3rd Place in Mid-Atlantic Semifinal & 3rd Place National Wild Card), Off The Beat has had the distinct pleasure of performing at the Kimmel Center for Performing Arts, singing for the Comcast & NBCUniversal Pitch Perfect 3 advanced screening, opening for NBC’s The Sing Off season 1 winners Committed (Oakwood University), and serenading former Vice President of the United States Joe Biden. But above all else, we love singing together and creating sweet music for all of you.
